Pokemon Advanced Pokedex If there’s anyone out there who thinks that the Pokemon craze would just be another fad, disappearing from public consciousness in a matter of months, well, think again. The popularity of the Japanese monster collecting game shows no sign of slowing and may in fact be growing thanks to improving technology, evidenced in new products such as this hand held Pokedex. It features electronically stored information on all 200 Pokemon Advanced monsters and features such as personalization and tracking up to six of your favorite Pokemon. You can earn trainer points as you capture the various critters on various different terrains offered. Beyond the traditional capture game, there are other challenges available including a Pokemon quiz and a new game where you help Mudkip run without tiring the poor guy out. The Pokedex may not appeal to someone who isn’t already a Pokemon fan but for those who are hooked, it’s a lot of fun. Three AAA batteries are required but not included. –Charlie Williams Customer Review: Great Item This is a perfect item for all Pokemon fans. It contains all the information you need to now on all the Hoenn Pokemon. Fans of the olds however won’t be able to find their faves in this guide exceot for a select few. For example, if you want a Charizard profile, you’re better off with the old one. But, this no longer has the ridiculous ripoff of being able to fit only five words on the screen. I mean, cmon, you couldn’t even fit the word Scyther on the old screen, but this one rocks. In addition to Pokemon info, you also get a bunch of minigames, getting a new one when you beat the high score of the latest one. Also, there’s a capture mode where you search the area for Pokemon. Instead of like in the game, you get a “Who’s that Pokemon” test. If you get the Pokemon right, you add it to your collection. There are 200 total Pokemon to catch. You also can find wierd scrolls for passwords considering screen savers or Pokemon alarms such as a Treecko alarm to wake you up each morning. Also, by fulfilling certain requirements, you can get badges like in the show. MUST BUY FOR POKEMON FANS! Customer Review: Not much fun, but the alarm function comes in handy When I got this, I expected a lot more. The mini games and capture mode are okay, but they get boring after a while. I don’t play with it often, I only use the alarm function to get me up early enough so I’m not late for school.

Pokemon Stadium 2 What can you expect from the sequel to one of the favorite Nintendo 64 games of 2000? A lot. Pok mon Stadium 2 comes with four new tournaments, 12 new minigames, and lots of fun extras, like special Pok quizzes to test your level of mastery. And you’re sure to find your favorite monsters, because–gulp!–249 Pok mon are present in the game. As in Pok mon Stadium, you can train and battle your monsters, as well as transfer them (via the separately sold Transfer Pak) from your favorite Game Boy titles–including the newer Gold and Silver editions of the game. Customer Review: Tons of fun First of all, I have always been a big pokemon fan, so anything with pokemon is fun to me. A lot of people say it’s boring and the same thing over and over but if you are a real fan of pokemon it’s always something new. My sister and I battle over and over, and what keeps us from getting bored is that we have one rule, well two, we can’t use the same pokemon at one time, AND we can’t use the same pokemon twice… so each time we battle it’s new types, new attacks , etc..

Pokemon - Stadium As with just about anything brandishing the Pok mon name, Pok mon Stadium is a must-have for any Pok maniac. But this title is especially geared towards owners of Pok mon Red, Pok mon Blue, or Pok mon Yellow for the Game Boy. Using the same battle system as the Game Boy games–think highly advanced rock-paper-scissors–Pok mon Stadium allows players to enter their Pok mon in a variety of tournaments and other battle modes, all featuring vibrant 3-D graphics and animation, as well as enhanced sounds and announcer commentary. Using the included Transfer Pak, players can use their own Pok mon from Game Boy Game Paks, or they can choose from a pool of rental Pok mon.
Pok mon Stadium isn’t all battles, though. The Kids Club mode features nine cutesy minigames that make for great multiplayer fun for all ages. Gallery mode lets players take snapshots of Pok mon (similar to Pok mon Snap), which can then be printed out as stickers at your local Pok mon Snap station.
While Pok mon Stadium doesn’t require that you already have any Game Boy version of Pok mon, players won’t be able to access two of the best features of the game without one. Pok mon Lab allows players to view, store, and better organize the data on their Game Paks, as well as trade Pok mon with another player (which requires an additional Transfer Pak, sold separately). GB Tower allows gamers to play their Game Boy Pok mon cartridge on the Nintendo 64. –Joe Hon
Pros:
- Tried-and-true Pok mon battle system with enhanced graphics and sounds
- Allows you to play your Game Boy Pok mon game on the Nintendo 64
- Ability to manipulate data on your Game Boy Pok mon game
- Minigames make for great multiplayer fun for all ages
Cons:
- Not likely to win over any Pok mon holdouts
- The Game Boy Pok mon games are a better starting point for newbies to the genre
Customer Review: Fun if you love pokemon. This game’s main plot is literally none existant. The funniest parts in my opinon was the mini-games and I suppose fighting the elite four. The other modes I did not enjoy as much but if you prefer the Pokemon games on the handhelds then this makes trading and locating Pokemon that you missed if you are just that big of a pokemon collector. Customer Review: IT NEVER GETS OLD OR TIRING 9 OUT OF 10 Despite the fact I’ve grown out of the Pokemon card game rush, the video games get old for really for anyone, unless you’re playing the recently released garbage instead of the retro classics. It never gets old to collect badges and being a stupid kid with a baseball cap, assembling your destructive force of Pokemon, fighting the numerous trainers in numerous stadiums, getting into the hall of fame, and playing the wildly fun mini-games. The only problem with the game is the fact your attacks can miss your opponents and you can get paralyzed. If you love retro classics, you have to like the old-time Pokemon games or there is something deeply wrong with you.
