Pokemon Adventures, Volume 1: Mysterious Mew (Pok mon Adventures) Mew, one of the “New Species” Pokmon, is an innocent-looking catlike character - the super-rare 151st Pokmon. This story introduces the trainer, Pokmon expert Professor Oak, Professor Oak’s nephew, and others, who try to capture all the Pokmon to complete the collection - and win a series of duels against other Pokmon trainers. Customer Review: Manga-riffic! It’s always good to see a differant take on the beginnings of the pokemon phenomenon, and this manga is no exection. It more closely follows the game rather than the anime, and somehow, this improves it. Although it is rather un-nerving to see an intelligent ‘Ash’… Definately add to your cart! Customer Review: These are brilliantly done Pokemon Adventures is probably the best vision of the concept that’s sponsored by Nintendo. For the record, I recommend buying these in the graphic novel format.
This is a great series. It’s a more mature story that isn’t exclusively aimed at kids like the cartoon or the other comic. There are elements in these stories that will appeal to all ages. Red and Blue, instead of being a couple of abrasive children, are more like rivals should be — with a healthy respect for one another. They work together, even help each other along at times when they know there’s more at stake than their own pride.
The story takes some turns that are far darker than anything the show would ever touch, and most of the characters from the show who appear here are, such as the Gym Leaders, are, instead of silly characitures of how people behave, real characters with a passion for what they do. Misty and Brock, incidentally, kick ass. Both Red and Blue are serious about what they do, and there’s a clear reason that they win as many fights as they do, not just the “Ash is the main character, so of course he wins” mentality the show has.
Even better, as the series progresses, there is real character growth. Over the course of the story, Red goes from being a Pokemon lover with a heart of gold to a brilliant tactician who can use his Pokemon’s abilities in ways nobody can imagine.
I recommend this for anyone with a passion for good storytelling, anyone who has played the game, and anybody who thinks the Pokemon concept is interesting, regardless of whether you like the cartoon. This is the best handling of the material you will find.

But the ship holds unexpected dangers, including the hardheaded Lt. Surge and his team of electric Pokemon. Red’s adventures climax in a wild bicycle race, and in order to win he has to get past the enormous Snorlax! Customer Review: Red, AKA Ash, takes on Pokemon Kidnappers This was the first Manga I’d ever bought for my 8 year old child. And he loves the cartoon format. Snorlax is a gas! The book is divided into chapter including a kidnapping from a Pokemon fan club and a race.

It is comical and adventures, it makes you not won’t to put it down. This comic book in a series of many comic books is about red, a pokemon trainer who is traveling around on a quest to catch every pokemon and collect gym badges. He travels to lavender town where everybody is suspecious of everybody else because of the ghousts in the pokemon tower. when red find’s out his rival ,blue, whent into the tower and has not come out in two weeks he runs to the tower because he cant turn down a challenge his rival took. in the tower he has to fight pokemon zombies and a possesed blue. After that he meets a girl nammed green who ripes him off and bulbasuar evolves. Customer Review: One of the best manga around! Pokemon Adventures is almost as good as Toshihiro Ono’s manga, if not better in some parts.
This part is when Red (in Anime terms, Ash) reaches Lavender town.
It is so funny in the tower, and Blue is no different to Shigerou!
I reccomend this to anyone!

Pokemon - Friends and Rivals (Vol. 26) The virtues of friendship, like loyalty and trustworthiness, are put to the test in this trio of Pokemon adventures starring Ash and his new confidant, Richie. In the first episode, “A Friend in Deed,” the menacing Team Rocket pulls off “the biggest poke-haul of all,” kidnapping the trainers’ pokeballs in order to rig the Pokemon League in their favor. Pokemaniacs Ash and Richie join forces to thwart the deceptive scheme. In the end, however, a twist of fate pits friend against friend when Ash learns that his next Pokemon match will turn Richie into his opponent. This cliffhanger continues in the second episode, “Friend and Foe Alike,” when Ash wonders if his friendship with Richie can survive their upcoming match. A funny thing happens on the way to the stadium though, as Team Rocket’s shenanigans continue. Winning and losing gracefully is the theme of the final episode, “Friends to the End,” when Ash and Richie discuss the lessons they have learned from defeat. But wait, a calamitous crater dug by Team Rocket traps the friends, giving them a chance for a final dual, this time as cohorts. In the end, viewers realize that the Team Rocket duo, in their attempts to win at any cost, are the real losers of these tales. While there are some worthy moral messages sprinkled throughout Friends and Rivals, be warned that they come mostly by way of violent showdowns between pocket monsters. Parents concerned about imitative behavior should remain cautious. –Lynn Gibson Customer Review: Hmmm . . . I don’t know about you, but Ash’s new friend Richie seems too good to be true. And to me he’s sort of flat; I ean he has like no personality aside from the fact that he’s a great trainer and friend. I just think that Richie was a rather dry character. And while I liked the previous Indigo League battle episodes, I didn’t find these to be as good. The episodes aren’t boring in the least, just a little dry, I guess. And this is really picky but Richie’s laugh is SO annoying!

The Best of Pokemon Adventures: Red: Red (Best of Pok mon Adventures) Customer Review: Awesome summary of Pokemon Adventures. This book is for anyone who likes Pokemon. It summarizes the comic Pokemon Adventures. If you have not read Pokemon adventures and like Pokemon then this book is for you. Customer Review: Great read! This is a great selection of the manga. It’s pokemon to the core, but differant enough from the TV series to keep even the hard-core fans interested. It’s good to see a version of pokemon where ‘Ash’ is actually intelligent, and Brock isn’t a complete perv… The one beef with this book, is that it isn’t the complete series. It jumps from one story to the next with little warning, so everyone suddenly appears with Pokemon they previously didn’t seem to have. Otherwise, a great read. Highly recommended!

The Best of Pokemon Adventures: Yellow: Yellow (Best of Pok mon Adventures) Customer Review: Pokemon Comic — Good for Beginning Readers I bought this book, which happens to be in comic book format, for my 6-year-old son. I was looking for books with subjects that he was interested in to make him eager to read. I bought regular format books as well, but he is most interested in the comic format, even sounding out 3-4 syllable words that he finds within the pages. Customer Review: Hooked from beginning to end. I bought this book for my son. He wouldn’t put it down unless a teacher made him..he even tried sneaking it out during recess. Another student even stole it from him, but don’t worry, he recovered it. All in all, I think it’s a great book.

Pokemon - Adventures on the Orange Islands Box Set The Orange Islands continuity (1999) serves as a bridge between the longer Pok mon storylines about the Indigo League (1997) and Johto League (1999) adventures. Professor Oak sends Ash, Misty and Brock to the Orange Islands to retrieve the mysterious GS Pok ball found by fellow researcher Professor Ivy. When they reach her lab, moonstruck Brock decides to stay with the Professor and her three female assistants. Ash and Misty are soon joined by Tracey, a “Pok mon Watcher” in training who sketches. After the perpetually amorous Brock, he makes a rather bland companion, although the caricatures of Groucho Marx and Clint Eastwood they encounter liven things up a bit. The characters roam aimlessly from island to island, escaping the snares of the inept Team Rocket, who stalk them in a submarine disguised as a giant Magicarp and a balloon that looks like Meowth. Ash wins the Coral Eye, Sea Ruby, Spike Shell, and Jade Star badges, which qualify him for the Orange League Tournament, where he finally learns to make his recalcitrant Charizard obey him. These stories lack a narrative arc: Ash’s battles at the various gyms don’t escalate, nor is there any sense of urgency to the mission to return the GS ball. The adventure concludes with Ash, Misty, and Tracey returning to Pallet Town, just in time to encounter the long-absent Gary. Professor Oak invites Tracey to become his assistant, so Brock, who’s been jilted by Ivy and her assistants, sets out with Ash and Misty for the Johto League. (Rated A, suitable for All Ages: minor cartoon violence. –Charles Solomon Customer Review: A fun Pokemon summer adventure With Pokemon now over 10 season’s old, it is hard to imagine that there was a day where there was only just 150 Pokemon.

Climb your way to the top but watch out for the trap door! Battle your opponent with dueling attacks. Watch the mountain top explode and lava pour out when you win. See the glowing lava flow and hear the volcano explosion. Links up with all the links from the Battle Links System, sold separately. Includes a Monferno Figure. Measurements 4″x 14 x 4″. Customer Review: Good toy - without the slime… My 7 yr old son got this for a gift and loves it. We did have the previous version of a Pokemon playset and it was terrible and went back to the store. This one is made so much better and it stays together. I have to say though - I did NOT use the slime and don’t plan to. It says on the directions that it will stain everything (clothes, carpet, tile, etc.) Not sure why the company would bother putting it in there if it stains so much but my kids like it just fine without it. The mountain where the lava goes lights up and turns red anyway so no need for the slime. Customer Review: Not Good I gave this toy to my 5 year old son and he loved it. I went to make breakfast and came back to his playroom, the “lava” or red slime was everywhere, I couldn’t believe it. It has now stained the carpet and his clothes, I managed to get it off the walls. In very small print on the directions it lists staining as a problem. I am still trying various products to get the stain out. Maybe I should have known that slime does that, but most products list that sort of thing on the box.
